Abstract

The specimen list and report were written by naturalist, Alfred H. Ames for the United States North Pacific Exploring Expedition (1853-1856) for Limons Bay, October 1853. Lists includes insects, lizards, crustaceans, and invertebrates. the report details circumstances surrounding collecting. The subsequent list includes location, type, description including behavior and appearance when alive, and measurements. Locations include Norfolk, Virginia; at sea in the Atlantic; and Madeira Islands.
