Abstract

The journal includes notes on the fossils collected and observed by Franco Rasetti, March 3, 1957 - December 30,1958. Entries are headed with date, then with location, with reference location (usually town, street intersection, or geographic location), and recommendations on method of travel. Entries include description of terrain; section descriptions with measurements, types of fossils found, and characteristics (color, texture, type) of rock found, and identified formations. Describes the stratigraphy of sites. In back of notebook is a list of key to abbreviations used. Locations include vicinity of Rogersville, New Market, and Morristown, Tennessee; Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; Frederick, Maryland; and Abingdon, Virginia.
