Abstract

The journal includes notes on fossil localities recorded by Franco Rasetti, 1950-1959. Entries are headed with locality, and town nearby; these are followed with detailed directions and hand drawn maps are included to locations. Maps also detail locations of fossils and rock formations. Descriptions include measurements, types of fossils, appearance and texture of rock present, and period. Most are Cambrian. Some extensive notes are included on inserts. Includes Photographs. Locations include near Staunton and Strasburg, Virginia; Frederick, Maryland; Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; Low Hampton, New York; Tennessee; and Conococheague Island, West Virginia.
