Abstract

The notebook created by Franco Rasetti, details observations of the Canadian Rockies, June 1948. Journal includes information entered from front and back. Notes are organized by location, and are headed with location, sometimes date. Usually notes consist of Cambrian section descriptions. Notes include directions to location; sections include description and measurement of layer. Description entails texture, color, rock type, references to photographs taken, presence of fossils, and formations. Locations include gullies, canyons, mines, quarries in Wyoming and Montana including Wind River Canyon (Wyoming), Nixon Gulch (Montana), Kicking Horse Mine, Mt. Botsworth, Monarch Mine, Mt. Stephen, Pope's Peak, and Eiffel Peak. Includes a list of photographs with negative number and image description.
