Abstract

Volume 75 are the journals of M.C. Thompson completed for the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program, 1965-1967. Includes a mixture of typed and hand written copies of journals. 1) is the journal of Max C. Thompson for Pribilof, Alaska, June 14 - October 21, 1965. Entries are dated and headed with location. Entries describe travel and daily work, terrain and vegetation of islands, birds, nests and eggs as well as other wildlife observed, weather, wind speed and temperature, blood samples, bird banding. Include species overviews listing locations and dates seen. Includes catalog organized by location and date with number, bird type, weight, sex, measurements and varying other amounts of information Locations include the islands of St. George, Otter Island, and Adak. 2) is the journal from Southern Island Cruise [SIC] #12, April 12 - 1966. Entry format and content are similar to those described above. Includes species accounts. Locations includes islands of Howland, Enderbury, Phoenix [Rawaki], Hull, and McKean. 3) is the journal and species accounts for Pribilof Islands, Alaska, June 2 - September 6, 1966. Same types as details found in other entries described for previous cruise to Alaska. Locations additionally include St Paul Island. 4) is a journal covering Southern Island Cruise, March 10 - April 1967. Entries similar to previous journals. include sketched maps. Includes species accounts. Locations include islands of Palmyra, Fanning [Tabuaeran], Starbuck, and Jarvis.
