Abstract

Alexander Wetmore records observations of birds in the vicinity of his home town, North Freedom, Wisconsin, April - June 1903. The notebook has journal style entries, headed with the date and numbered pages. Entries include descriptions of the appearances, actions, and songs of birds in the area, such as type of sparrows, chickadees, and warblers. Locations are indicated in the text and refer often to a local landmark or landowner. The notebook is half-filled, and includes folded inserts of additional notes for May of 1903.
