Abstract

This field book contains daily, diary like notes on the paleontological specimen and geology of Caborca, Sonora, Mexico taken from 23 March 1943 to 10 May 1944. Cooper describes stratigraphy, often providing color and consistency of shale in which fossils are found. Brachiopod, Trilobite, algae and other fossil specimen are noted. Locations Cooper visits include Altar, Chanate, Gachupin, Santa Theresa, Zorra, Arrojos, and other areas. Some coordinates are included. Jurassic, Cambrian, and Cretaceous specimen are noted. Many sketches are included. Pages are hand numbered, two sets: 1-81 (for 1943) and 1-70 (for 1944). Index on first page.
