Abstract

This field book contains note on the paleontological specimen and geology of the Devonian Hamilton group in upper New York State, which includes but is not limited to Hamilton, Unadilla Valley, West Brook, New Berlin, South Brookfield, Union Springs, Jacox Run (currently Jacox Pond ), and Cayuga Lake. Cooper notes specimen found and also which are the most common specimen in certain locations. Annotated maps are included. Maps are labeled with numeric codes which he refers to in his field notes. Cooper also describes the color and consistency of the shale in which the fossils are found. Page numbers for these field notes are 0680-0802b.
