Abstract

This field book includes details of Griffiths' itinerary and observations, descriptions of soil samples taken, and specimens collected in Wyoming, Nevada, and Ontario in 1901. Noted geographic points include Malheur Lake; Big Creek, Nevada; and a number of ranches. Dated prose entries describe routes taken, the day's work, and observations on pasturing practices for sheep and cattle. Descriptive soil samples are numbered and dated. The field book includes collection numbers 1 - 994. There are also shipment lists and lists of 5x7 photographic plates.
