Abstract

This field book documents the field work and travels of Goldman through Mexico between 13 December 1902 and 5 July 1903. Notes are a narrative description of mammal and bird specimen observed and collected interspersed with specimen lists from locations visited. Flora of various locations is also described. Locations include Zacatecas, Lake Cehapala, Las Tortugas (Jalisco), Los Reyes (Michoacán), Copala (Guerrero), Rio Balsas, Atlixco (Puebla), La barca (Jalisco), and other locations. Goldman keeps a very detailed record of travel, route, and locations visited and also comments on which specimen are common, altitude of localities, weather, and other observations in these notes. Specimen numbers for mammals range from 15710-15739; bird specimen numbers range from 6515-6532. Specimen numbers are not consecutively listed.
