Abstract

Alexander Wetmore records observation of birds in the vicinity of North Freedom, Wisconsin. The note includes dated journal style entries, with numbered pages. Observations include common names of birds, locations indicated by landmarks or landowner name, characteristics of males and females of bird types (sometimes with measurements), details about nests and eggs, feeding young. Wetmore revisits sites and records subsequent observations. In the back of the notebook is a detailed and labeled illustration of a bluebird.
