Abstract

This field book documents Goldman's field research and travels in Mexico between 7 March and 6 June 1893. The notes are a narrative and describe mostly mammal and bird specimens observed and collected, routes traveled, and other observations. Goldman uses both common and scientific names to refer to specimens. Examples of frequently noted specimens include mice, voles, shrews, gophers, and sparrows. Many more varieties of specimen are included. Goldman includes elevations and environmental information of localities where specimen are collected. Locations include but are not limited to Tula, Pachuca, El Chico, Tehuacan, Huamantla, Sierra Malinche, and Malpais.
