Volume 62 includes work completed by Phil Lehner for the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program, 1964-1965. Journals are a mix of typed and hand written copies. 1) is the journal of Marshall and Gilbert Islands, October 1 - November 27, 1964. Dated entries describe travel, interactions with participants, observations of birds while at sea, weather, daily activities with times of day, wreck of Fukuju Maru #5 (Japanese fishing vessel) observed, challenges with camping conditions, specimen collecting including fish, rats, mice, insects; observations of lagoons; extensive descriptions of interactions with local inhabitants. Includes maps. After the journal entries are observation sheets and tables of related data. Locations include Taongi, Kamome, Guro, Orubebbu, Jaluit, and Maniana. 2) is a journal for work on Sand-Johnston and Oahu, July 16, 1964 - February 12, 1965. Dated entries include information as in the journal described above.
