Abstract

This field book contains miscellaneous notes and notes on vegetation and birds observed in various Florida and Georgia locations. An itinerary from 5 April to 10 May 1924 is provided and sometimes includes notes on birds and vegetation observed. Nelson notes the numbers of pelicans, herons, snakebirds, and other kinds of birds. Locations included but are not limited to Mullet Key, Gulfport, Blackbeard Island, Sapelo, Pelican Island, and Bird Key. An excerpt from a letter of Warden Bethel dated March 1, 1924 entitled "Tortugas Keys—planting" is included as is a list of birds from an unknown location.
