Abstract

This notebook documents Nelson's field work in Mexico between 31 March and 12 July 1894. Nelson's daily, narrative notes describe terrain, elevations, and geology and the plant, bird, and mammal life he observed or collected. Locations include but are not limited to Tlacatalpan, Tuxtepec, Tuxtla, Catemaco, and Oaxaca. Elevations where specimen are found are often noted. Nelson's notes also describe his observations during his travels including cultural customs and artifacts.
