Abstract

The notebook, created by Charles D. Walcott, includes various lists of localities and publications. The notebook has a table of contents listing a locality list of collections, list of publications by Walcott, persons to whom he had sent reports, books wished, and Trilobites. The locality list is numbered by hand, and includes sites in Canada (including New Brunswick), New York, and Maine. The next section lists publications in subjects: Trilobites, Cambrian, Silurian, Devonian, Carboniferous. Articles written by Walcott include descriptions. The list for reports notes the recipient, his or her location, and a table indicating the subject matter of the report and year sent. Lists are spread throughout the notebook with numerous black pages in between. There are some pasted inserts. Ones in the back of the notebook contain a list of "principal foreign agencies of reception and distribution of the Smithsonian exchanges,"and a text explaining the Smithsonian's explanation and method of distribution.
