Abstract

This field book documents Nelson's field research in various parts of the Chiapas region in Southern Mexico between 1895 and 1896. This pocket sized notebook contains notes on and lists of the flora and fauna, particularly birds and small mammals, in the locations Nelson visits. Many species are referred to by taxonomic as well as common name. Locations include but are not limited to San Fernando, Pichucalco, Tenejapa, Guaquitepec, Tuxtla.
