Abstract

Color and black and white slides document the work completed in Antarctica by Waldo L. Schmitt during his participation in the Palmer Peninsula (Antarctica) Survey, 1962-1963. Some slides are labeled with location, date, and description and sometimes time of day. Subject matter includes views of coastlines of islands; participants at work on vessel and on land; seals; birds and their nests; penguins as groups, individuals, and with nests; ice fields; staff and structures at research stations; and collected specimens. Locations include the vicinity of Paradise Harbor, Cape Spigot, Argentine Islands, Wilhelmina Bay, and Potter's Cove.
