Abstract

Stereo slides [stereographs] document work completed by Waldo L. Schmitt during the Smithsonian-Bredin Belgian Congo Expedition, 1955. Images are organized by subject matter. Includes rain forests, Karnak, Luxor, Valley of the Kings, locations in Brussels, ferry in the Congo River, roadsides, hot springs, and lava fields at Albert National Park [Virunga National Park], Gangala-na-Bodio and other parks across Congo, accommodations, vistas of terrain, villages and local inhabitants, and an experimental station in Nioka, Congo.
