Abstract

The color slides document work completed by Waldo L. Schmitt during the Smithsonian-Bredin Belgian Congo Expedition, 1955. Subject matter includes structures and views along the Nile River, Egyptian ruins, Aswan Dam [As-Sadd al ʻĀlī], locations and scenes around Lake Victoria bordering Uganda, swarms of insects observed, ferries, indigenous residences, Mangalla, Congo; Malakal, Sudan.
