Abstract

The black and white photographs of Waldo LaSalle Schmitt document his work during the Smithsonian-Bredin Caribbean Expeditions, 1956, 1958-1960 and Society Islands Expedition, 1957. Images include processing specimens collected, expedition participants and local staff in the field, and candid portraits aboard sailing vessels used. One photograph indicates site on Virgin Gorda in Caribbean.
