Abstract

This field book contains notes Ernst kept during field research in California to collect plant specimens for the Dudley Herbarium of Stanford University from 19 June 1956 and 10 August 1957. Collection numbers range from 1-207. A second set of numbers, usually 5 digits or 5 digits and one decimal point, are also included. This second set of numbers is possibly the total mileage. California locations include Napa, Clear Lake State Park, Furnace Creek in Death Valley National Park, Monarch Canyon in Death Valley, and Santa Clara. Other California locations are also included.
