Abstract

The miscellaneous notes document the work of Waldo Schmitt during the Smithsonian-Bredin Caribbean Expedition, 1960 [Smithsonian-Bredin Expedition to Yucatan (1960)]. Includes two news clippings. Some notes are dated and are journal style, drafts of correspondence. Describes travel progress on sailing vessel, status following itinerary, working relationship with participants, weather conditions including wind directions and speeds and temperatures, descriptions of terrain and structures in port, and work completed during expedition. Locations in Mexico include vicinity of Mujeres and Cozumel Island.
