Abstract

Correspondence documents the work completed during the Smithsonian-Bredin Caribbean Expedition, 1960 [Smithsonian-Bredin Expedition to Yucatan (1960)]. Waldo Schmitt writes letters to J. Bruce Bredin about the planning for and progress during of the expedition, describe expedition participants, activities, issues, weather, collecting efforts, expenses and balances, and destinations of the expedition. Other letters usually deal with arranging logistics and participants for expedition. Includes correspondence of J. Bruce Bredin, Tom Burnett, Leonard Carmichael, and Desmond V. Nicholson.
