Abstract

This record refers to 3 field books created for the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program Southern Island Cruise 15, in 1966 on Phoenix Island (Rawaki). Envelope 1 contains a field book by R. S. Heiden that includes nest count; bird banding and returns data; and a blood catalog that lists catalog number (1-191), species, sex, age, color phase, nesting status, and band number (587-81655 to 777-54301). Envelope 2 contains a field book by L. N. Huber that includes nest counts; and bird banding data (listing band numbers 514-78055 to 853-05139). Envelope 3 contains a field book by Frank Smith that includes bird banding data; nest counts; description of Lesser frigatebird colony; and a hand-drawn map of Lesser frigatebird colony.
