Abstract

This record refers to 3 field books created for the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program Southern Island Cruise 15, in 1966 on Howland Island. Envelope 1 contains a field book by Walter Bulmer that includes bird banding data (listing band numbers 595-64001 to 953-96167); a hand-drawn map of Sooty tern colony; shorebird counts; and nest counts and observations. Envelope 2 contains a field book by Richard D. Chandler that includes some general island observation notes; and Sooty tern streamer recoveries (953-01855 to 953-96909). Envelope 3 contains a field book by J. H. Fitch that includes banding data for Lesser frigatebirds (listing band numbers 737-81601 to 737-81830).
