Abstract

This record refers to 2 field books created for the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program Southern Island Cruise 14, in 1966. Envelope 1 contains a field book by D. I. Hoff from work conducted on Gardner Island (Nikumaroro) and Swains Island. The field book contains island observations including notes on birds, insects, and other animals, vegetation, lagoon, and weather. Envelope 2 contains a field book by Richard S. Crossin from work conducted on Swains Island. The field book includes shorebird counts; and observations of New Zealand cuckoos, Polynesian rats, Fairy terns, and Common noddies.
