Abstract

This record refers to 3 field books created for the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program Southern Island Cruise 13, in 1966 on Palmyra Atoll. Envelope 1 contains a field book by B. A. Harrington that includes bird banding and returns data that includes band numbers (747-54101 to 797-27700), age, and sex. Envelope 2 contains a field book by N. H. Heryford that includes bird banding data (listing band numbers 747-54284 to 863-82300). Envelope 3 contains a field book by Dayle N. Husted that includes bird banding and returns data (listing band numbers 747-53730 to 797-26800); observations of animals including crabs, fish, insects, and birds; observations of island vegetation; shorebird counts; weather notes; and several hand-drawn maps indicating location of pelagic bird colonies and water depth around Palmyra.
