Abstract

This field book contains field notes on birds taken from 10 November 1978 to 18 February 1979. Notes contain daily lists of various birds spotted in Virginia. Most of the birds listed were observed at Eike's home on 6207 Newman Road, Fairfax or in the surrounding area. Birds observed at "Cobb’s field" on Braddock Road near Colchester Road on 1-12-79 are also included. Other locations may be included. Notes occasionally include weather and temperature information, quantity, time spotted, and the sex of the birds. Symbol codes on the verso of the cover are as follows: triangle – outside kitchen window; “c” – calling; “s” – singing; upside-down “T” -- hanging feeder. Small clipping with temperatures from 12/4 is inserted near the entry for 11-14-78.
