Abstract

This field book contains field notes on birds taken from 17 January to 19 April 1977. Notes contain lists of various birds spotted in Virginia. Most of the birds listed were observed at Eike's home on 6207 Newman Road, Fairfax or in the surrounding area. Birds observed at Lake Burke 3-7-77. Other locations may be included. Notes occasionally include weather and temperature information, quantity, time spotted, and the sex of the birds. Rising and setting times for the sun are occasionally included, as are sightings and quantities of chipmunks. Symbol codes on the verso of the cover are as follows: triangle – outside rocking chair window; upside-down T -- hanging feeder; "*" -- first seen; check mark with apostrophe above – see note; “*” encircled – hawks.
