Abstract

This record refers to 3 field books created for the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program Southern Island Cruise 11, in 1966 on Howland Island. Envelope 1 contains a field book by B. A. Harrington that includes banding data (listing band numbers 737-23501 to 757-62723); project photography list; nest counts; and moth and seabird observations. Envelope 2 contains a field book by N. H. Heryford that includes an island survey; and bird banding data (listing band numbers 587-83291 to 757-62878). Envelope 3 contains a field book by Max C. Thompson that includes nest surveys of Blue-faced boobies and Brown boobies; banding data (listing band numbers 587-93660 to 777-57454) for Blue-faced boobies, Brown boobies, and Red-footed boobies; shorebird counts; and observations of flight patterns of Sooty terns.
