Abstract

This field book contains field notes on birds taken from 13 February to 11 May 1976. Notes contain lists of various birds spotted in Virginia. Most of the birds listed were observed at Eike's home on 6207 Newman Road, Fairfax or in the surrounding area. Birds observed during a trip to whalebone junction, North Carolina are are also included. Other locations may be included. Notes occasionally include weather and temperature information, quantity, time spotted, and the sex of the birds. Symbol codes on the verso of the cover are as follows: triangle -- bird seen in triangle from kitchen; upside-down T -- hanging feeder; "T" -- standing feeder; "s" – singing; male sign – male; female sign – female; "*" -- first seen; "ad" – adult; check mark with apostrophe above – subsequently seen.
