Abstract

The folder of correspondence (N-Z) documents the work of Waldo Schmitt during the Smithsonian-Bredin Belgian Congo Expedition, 1955. Subject matter covers the film made of the expedition; preparations for travel; motion picture film list of locations and subject matter in film with dates; references to film taken; dealing with government officials; and expedition itinerary. Includes correspondents C. J. Pertuit, Alvina S. Schmitt (Mrs. Waldo LaSalle), Alexander Wetmore, and Frank Walter Weymouth. Deals with locations throughout the expedition from Sudan to the Democratic Republic of Congo.
