Abstract

This field book contains field notes on birds taken from 26 December 1974 to 11 April 1975. Notes contain lists of various birds spotted in Virginia. Most of the birds listed were observed at Eike's home on 6207 Newman Road, Fairfax or in the surrounding area. Birds observed en route to Kill Devil Hill in North Carolina via 460-168-34-158 are also included. Other locations may be included. Notes occasionally include weather and temperature information, quantity, time spotted, and the sex of the birds. A grey feather is inserted near the entry for 22 January 1975. News clipping stating 1973 was the warmest year on record locally is included. Symbol codes on the verso of the cover are as follows: triangle -- bird seen in triangle at kitchen window; upside-down T -- hanging feeder; "T" -- standing feeder; "*" -- first seen in the season; check mark -- subsequent sighting; check mark with apostrophe above -- see note.
