Abstract

This field book contains field notes on birds taken from 4 September to 25 December 1974. Notes contain lists of various birds spotted in Virginia. Most of the birds listed were observed at Eike's home on 6207 Newman Road, Fairfax or in the surrounding area. Birds observed during a trip to "Stratford Harbor" at Westmoreland State Park is also included. Other locations may be included. Notes occasionally include weather and temperature information, quantity, time spotted, and the sex of the birds. A brown and white striped feather is taped to the second page of the entry for 12 October 1974. Symbol codes on the verso of the cover are as follows: triangle -- bird seen in triangle at kitchen window; upside-down T -- hanging feeder; "T" -- standing feeder; "*" with circle around it -- hawks (only) repeat.
