Abstract

The expense reports are from Waldo Schmitt's participation in the United States Navy Galapagos Expedition, 1942. They include are typed, itemized expense reports and handwritten notes that detail times, dates and modes of travel; destinations; intermediate stops at military facilities; types and quantities of photography and specimen collecting supplies; details about collecting shrimp; and photographs documenting coconut palms. Locations noted include the Canal Zone (Albrook Air Base) in Panama; Haiti; and Coco Solo (Mt. Hope).
