Abstract

This field book contains field notes on birds taken from 24 May 1973 to 28 January 1974. Notes contain lists of various birds spotted in Virginia. Most of the birds listed were observed at Eike's home on 6207 Newman Road, Fairfax or in the surrounding area. Birds observed possibly in Charlottesville are also inlcuded. Other locations may be included. Notes occasionally include weather and temperature information, quantity, time spotted, and the sex of the birds. Symbol codes on the verso of the cover are as follows: triangle -- bird seen in triangle from rocking chair; upside-down T -- hanging feeder; "T" -- standing feeder; "(s)" -- bird in song; "*" -- first seen in the this season; check mark -- subsequent (used mostly for rare appearance).
