This record refers to 3 field books created for the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program Southern Island Cruise 8, in 1965. Envelope 1 contains a field book by Robert S. Standen from his work on Caroline Island and Starbuck Island. The field book includes black-and-white photography lists; color photography lists; banding data (listing band numbers 753-04548 to 853-26000); and some general notes. Envelope 2 contains a field book by Robert R. Fleet that includes banding data (753-08493 to 853-25000) from Starbuck Island. Envelope 3 contains a field book by Robert R. Fleet from work conducted on Malden Island. The field book includes notes on travel, fish poisoning, bird observations; bird and nest counts; and banding data (listing band numbers 587-83001 to 853-31000).
