This volume contains multiple field books by multiple creators. Field books by Alan H. Anderson include 1) SIC #6, 1964. The field book includes notes on the observation, banding, and collection of several species of pelagic birds; hand drawn maps of Baker Island, Sydney Island, Phoenix Island, Birnie Island, Enderbury Island, Jarvis Island, Palmyra Island; and a catalogue of specimens (numbered 1 - 92) that includes species, sex, measurements, and weights. Field books by Kenneth C. Balcomb include 1) Southern and Leeward Islands, 1966. The field book includes notes documenting travel; vegetation; and observations of seabirds, dolphins, porpoises, and whales. Notes also document bird banding and collection; and nest surveying. Several drawings of dolphins and other marine mammals observed at sea are included in the notes. A catalog includes SI numbers (188-5959); KCB numbers (001-089); species name; sex; weight; collection notes; physical descriptions; and some geographical coordinates for collecting locations. Field books by Walter Bulmer include 1) Southern Islands and at sea, 1966; and 2) at sea, 1966-1967. The first field book includes observations of several pelagic bird species, whales, and dolphins; species accounts; and a catalog with numbers 5993-6770; species name; physical descriptions; and some geographical coordinates. The second field book by Walter Bulmer includes observations of pelagic birds at sea; some drawings of birds and bird wings; a diagram of Terns diving to feed on flying fish; and a catalog listing numbers 6664-6674. Field books by David L. Burckhalter include 1) Leeward Islands, 1967. The book includes observations of pelagic birds at sea; species accounts; notes on bird banding and returns; and a hand-drawn map of islands along Pearl and Hermes Reef. Field books by David A. Bratley include 1) Southern Island Cruise #3, 1963; 2) Sand-Johnston, 1963-1964; 3) Sand-Johnston and Midway, 1964; and 4) Sand-Johnston, 1965. The first field book includes notes on seabird observation and collection; species lists; results of a census taken by Jeep on Canton Island; a catalog listing numbers 1-21. The second field book by Bratley includes observations of birds at sea; a small hand-drawn map of cruise course; and bird and nest counts. The third field book by Bratley includes bird banding notes (535-13513 to 753-26262); bird counts; and nest marking data. Field books by Robert Brownell include 1) Midway and Kure, 1968; and 2) Sand-Johnston, 1968-1969. The first field book includes notes on the observation and collection of seabirds and seals. The second field book includes bird observation and bird banding notes. Field books by Richard Chandler include 1) at sea, 1966. This catalog includes number 009-038, dates, coordinates, species name, sex, physical description, measurements, and weight.
