Abstract

This record refers to 3 field books created for the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program Southern Island Cruise #6, in 1964. Envelope 1 contains a field book by Richard W. Merrill from his work on Sydney Island, Phoenix Island, and Christmas Island. The field book includes bird counts; bird and landscape observations; banding data with sex, age, and whether roosting or alone; and supply lists. Envelope 2 contains a field book by Fred C. Sibly from activities conducted on Sydney Island, Phoenix Island, and Christmas Island. It includes bird counts; nest counts; banding data; plant list; and hand-drawn maps of bird colonies and burrows. Envelope 3 contains a field book by C. D. Hackman with data collected on Phoenix [Rawak] Island. It includes banding data and nest counts.
