Abstract

Correspondence documents Waldo Schmitt's work with the Fish and Wildlife Service during their Alaska King Crab Investigation, 1940. Much of the correspondence is exchanged with staff of the Fish and Wildlife Service. Includes a list of Schizopods collected for accession number 157371, including location, numbers, depth, date and species; collected mollusks (number, location, and date); Barnacles (number and scientific name); transport issues; terminology for crab species; letters about and drafts of the Service's final report; notes about an injury of a crew member; and directions on preserving specimen types. Includes correspondence of Roger W. Harrison and Lucile McCain. Locations were throughout the Aleutian Islands.
