Abstract

This record refers to 3 field books created during work with the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey in 1965 and 1968. Envelope 1 contains a field book by an unknown author that includes a brief list of numbers (34-68) and notations indicating chick age and sex. Envelope 2 contains a field book by Ralph W. Schreiber that includes a list of dead Sooty terns; bird counts; population calculations and estimates; banding data (listing band numbers 587-84435 to 993-01849; observations of bird behaviors; and a hand-drawn map of bird colonies. Envelope 3 contains a field book by Vernon M. Kleen that includes hand-drawn maps of bird colonies with counts; and banding and returns data (listing band numbers 743-30069 to 993-01847).
