Abstract

Charles D. Walcott records observations of the Cambrian strata in the Blacks Hills of South Dakota in 1897. Notes include detailed descriptions of the environment as well as types and characteristics of stone layers of the region. Also included is a description for an illustration not in the folder. A note at the bottom of the description states "see Black Canyon Section, or rather at the head of that creek -- Bull. 856, pl. 1. (This is Big Horns)".
