Abstract

This item is comprised of one bound volume containing three field notebooks kept by Coville during his collecting endeavors in Oregon. The first notebook is dated July 5, 1896-August 29, 1896. The second notebook is dated July 23, 1897-September 7, 1898. The third notebook is dated July 11, 1902-September 24, 1902. Dated entries typically include scientific name, description of flora, temperature, soil, locality, and elevation. Localities include: Granite Canyon; Harney; "Coleman Valley"; Crater Lake; Buck Lake, Klamath county; vicinity of Fort Klamath post office; Diamond Lake, Douglas county; "Big Meadows (Lava), Crook county"; Ashland; and "Kamath Agency".
