Abstract

The second folder of miscellaneous photographs document Waldo Schmitt's work during the Hancock Pacific-Galapagos Expeditions, 1933-1935. Some photographs have descriptions on the reverse side. Subject matter includes residential structures, detail images of varieties of birds at locations visited; tortoises; coastlines of islands visited; panoramas of bird populations and coastline; detail images of vegetation in arid and rainy environments; candid images of colleagues; marine specimens; and ships aboard. Locations include the vicinity of Panama, Galapagos Islands [Archipiélago de Colón], Bahia Honda, and Barrington Island.
