Abstract

This field book contains a catalogue of specimen numbered 8351-9791 which Chittenden collected or which was collected by others and numbered according to Chittenden's directions between approximately 1920-1925, bulk dates 1920-1923. Chittenden and his colleagues collected Diptera, Lepidoptera, Hymenoptera, and other insect groups, many or all of which are parasitic. Collecting took place in the United States and possibly other countries. Specimens are mostly from Alabama, Wisconsin, and Ohio. Other locations not recorded in this record are possibly included. The catalogue contains the following information: number, name (binomial), Host (plant or other insect was found on), Locality, Date, and Collector. Common names are occasionally recorded. Many pages of blank numbers are included.
