This record refers to 5 field books of Vernon M. Kleen, from his work with the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program on Kure Island, January-May 1969. Envelope 1 contains a field book from January 1969 that includes shorebird counts; nest data; banding and returns data (listing band numbers 587-85794 to 767-77372); and notes with physical descriptions of birds. Envelope 2 contains a field book from February 1969 that includes egg measurements; nest measurements; shorebird counts; banding and returns data (band numbers 587-66744 to 943-88082); and a sera list. Envelope 3 contains a field book from March 1969 that includes bird counts; nest observations and counts; and band lists (with numbers 587-66314 to 943-89408). Envelope 4 contains a field book from April 1969 that includes bird, nest, and egg counts; egg measurements; and banding data (listing band numbers 587-27099 to 767-71737 ).
