Abstract

This notebook contains data compiled by Bryant in the course of his work for the United States Antarctic Service Expedition of 1940-1941. The item includes specimen no. 1-408. Dated entries typically note scientific name (if known), locality, and growing conditions. Most localities are in the vicinity of "East Base". Locality information sometimes includes longitude and latitude. The notebook includes data on lichens and mosses (specimen no. 1-78 and 199-203); marine algae (specimen no. 99-103; flowering plants (specimen no. 150-174), and fresh water algae (specimen no. 175-200). The notebook contains a list of collectors and their titles at the back of the book.
