Abstract

This field book contains a catalogue of specimen numbered 3301-4404 which Chittenden collected or which was collected by others and numbered according to Chittenden's directions between approximately 2 July 1914 to 13 June 1919. This book contains many blank page of numbers. Chittenden and his colleagues collected Lepidoptera (including Noctuidae), Hemiptera (including Aphididae and Aleyrodidae), Hymenoptera (including Chalcididae), and other insect groups, many or all of which are parasitic. Collecting took place in the United States and possibly other locations. Some frequently recorded locations include Virginia, Kansas, Louisiana, and Wisconsin. Other locations not recorded in this record are included. The catalogue contains the following information: number, name (binomial), Host (plant or other insect was found on), Locality, Date, and collector. Common names are occasionally recorded.
