Abstract

The diary documents Waldo Schmitt's working during the Tortugas Laboratory Trips, August 2-9, 1931. Work as conducted at the Carnegie Institute of Washington, Marine Biology Laboratory at the Dry Tortugas Islands on Loggerhead Key in Florida (1903-1939). The diary are loose leaf paper, and discuss observations of shoreline, reefs, caves and types of fish during collecting; characteristics of observed fish; conditions of the water; and weather. References making of a film and photographs documenting his work there.
